An important part of knowing if you qualify for welfare assistance programs is understanding
your financial situation. There are two parts of your finances that
you need to understand and take control of.... the amount of money that you owe
(your debt) and the amount of money that you can borrow (your credit). You tend to get into financial trouble because you spend more money than you make and you get farther and farther into debt. For many, this seems to be a bottomless pit as credit card interest rates are increased, bank fees are imposed and overdraft fees become unmanageable. It is possible for you to break this endless cycle and get yourself out of debt by consolidating your debt and bills. Consolidation of your debt and bills might be the right first step for you. Make sure you spend some time researching your options and understand what a debt consolidation company can and can not do for you. Now is a great time to take control of your future. Welfare programs can help you get through the tough times, but your final goal should be to stand on your own and take control of your finances. To learn more about debt and bill consolidation.... This gives you the same information that financial institutions have and lets you understand why you might be considered a credit risk when you need to borrow money. All Americans are entitled to receive free credit reports every year. The free credit reports come as a result of the FTC's final ruling under the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act. Social welfare payments and services are typically provided free of charge or at
a nominal fee. They are funded by the state, benefactors or by compulsory enrollment
of those in need. It is also given out in cash. |
Welfare Programs Available: With each state having control of their welfare programs, there is no one set of requirements. It varies state by state. In general, most states offer basic welfare assistance in the way of health care medicaid, child abuse and neglect, child welfare assistance, housing assistance, food stamps and cash aid (TANF). State Welfare Program Eligibility Requirements: Each state may have different eligibility requirements, but normally they look at your income (both gross and net income), the size of your family, medical emergencies, pregnancy, unemployment and homelessness. When you apply, a case worker will be assigned to gather the information needed to determine the type of health and welfare benefits you are eligible to receive. The federal government is still involved in the welfare program by providing aid through Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). Essentially, this is a grant given to each state to run their welfare program. The TANF grant requires that all recipients of welfare assistance must find work within two years of receiving aid. Single parents are required to work at least 30 hours/week and two parent families are required to work 35 or 55 hours/week. This is to get people back into the workplace and avoid the past problems of unemployment and dependence on the welfare system. |

Welcome to Welfare Program Information. As you probably know, the United States is currently experiencing a financial crisis
similar to the Great Depression of the 1930's. It was during that time that
the U.S. Government created a welfare program to help citizens in need of financial
assistance and basic living needs. Due to the recession that we are currently
experiencing, many people are again in need of welfare programs that will
help you get through this difficult time. Due to the current economic problems and millions of people losing their jobs, we have decided to add a link to government job web sites that provide Federal government jobs and information on how to apply for a wide variety of government jobs. We have also added a link to help you with your credit card debt. |
Applying For A Welfare Program: It is easy for you to apply for the welfare program offered by your state. First, you need to contact your local Human Services Department. You will make an appointment with a case worker. Your case worker will give you a list of the required documents you will need when you meet. Typically, those documents are proof of income, your identification, utility bills or other proof of residency. Once the meeting is over, your case worker will review all the documents and information you provided along with your application. You will then be contacted to let you know if you are eligible, the welfare program(s) that you qualify for and the amount and type of welfare assistance you will receive. |
Welfare Programs: Each state regulates the welfare programs that are offered. There are many different types of welfare programs from which you can benefit. These welfare programs include the following: Child support program - The child support program provides your family with state regulated child care placement assistance that enables parents the time for working and job training. The child support program can supplement partial child care fees or provide 100% assistance. Energy assistance program - This utility assistance program is designed to help you pay for basic utilities such as electricity, heat and water. It can be supplemental or provide 100% of your monthly utility bills. Food stamps program - The food stamps program can help you get food for your household and provide for the nutritional needs of your family. There are restrictions on what can be purchased with food stamps. Only WIC approved items can be purchased with the food stamps from qualifying retailers. Medical assistance program - The medical assistance program provides you with medical insurance benefits. Wellness checks, visits to the doctor and basic medical care cannot be obtained without insurance. Medicare and Medicaid provide the coverage necessary for health and well being while also providing for regular doctor visits prescriptions, dental care and eye care. Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) - This program can bring you cash assistance if you have minimal household income. The TANF program was designed to bring income into homes so that children and elderly dependents can be cared for. The criteria for these welfare benefits is that the heads of the household are working to obtain job training that will allow them to leave the welfare program. This is a temporary assistance welfare program and is not designed to continue year after year. For additional welfare and debt information.... Click Here! To look for a government job.... Get Out Of Debt |
One of the reasons that many people are having a hard time and looking for welfare
assistance and help paying for food, is that they have gone into debt by borrowing
and spending more money than they make. Unfortunately, many banks and credit
card companies took advantage of the situation and offered introductory "no
interest" credit cards instead of bank secured credit cards. These credit cards were easy to get with little or no credit history. This resulted
in people getting several different credit cards, spending freely and making
the minimum monthly payments. Of course, the "no interest" introductory offer
expired and suddenly credit card holders were hit with high interest rates that
were applied to the unpaid balance. While you might be able to make the minimum
credit card payments, the interest being charged keeps you in a no-win situation.
Paying off your credit cards becomes a financial burden that you can't seem
to get away from. If you are late making your credit card payments, that will
be recorded on your credit report and can affect your credit score. There are some solutions that you should consider to get yourself out of debt.
You should stop using your credit cards if at all possible. You should pay off
the balance or at least pay down the balance if you can. If you owe money on several
different credit cards you should consider a credit card consolidation loan. This allows you to pay off all your credit cards, end up with one loan with a lower
interest rate, and then a longer term to pay off your loan. Make sure you
spend the time to do the necessary research and select a reputable credit card consolidation loan company to work with. |
